We are well into March and we know what that means: The luck of the Irish is upon us and soon we will be scoping out the best spots to get our St. Patrick’s Day on.  We’ve compiled a small handy list for the  best Irish pubs in Newport Beach. Enjoy!

“No reservations. Just join us!” is what Muldoon’s Irish Pub website states. Muldoon’s is slated to get the bash going at 9am and into the wee hours. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, live bands and more is sure to make you want to check out Muldoon’s for some portion (or all) of your St. Paddy’s Day. Just look at what Yelp lovers say,  “The place is a classic Irish pub with the dark interior, Guinness beer and Irish stew. I’ve tried a lot on the menu, my favorite is the shepherd’s pie, I’ve been here for holidays, normal days and Super Bowl and the place is ALWAYS a hit. The girls love it, boys love it and the vibe is great. Friendly staff and great live music.”

For “The Best Guinness in Newport Beach”, check out The Shamrock Bar and Grill. A favorite among Yelp-er’s,  Shamrock does one thing and they do it right: Beer! A favorite in Newport Beach, Shamrock offers live music throughout the week, and will for certain have a proper Irish celebration.

If you want a bit of a slightly low-key pub night out, we also love Mutt Lynch’s. Mutt’s is continually voted the best dive bar in Newport Beach, yet, also very much has a pub atmosphere and definitely in their menu selections like their fish and chips, and the might great list of beers and ales on tap!

And, now, the one we have indeed saved for last: If you want a hardcore St. Patrick’s Day, get up early and stay late at Malarky’s Irish Pub. Opening at 6:30am and not due to closed til after 2am, Malarky’s even suggest lining up to ensure getting in to get your Irish on.

“This place is one of the best local places to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner without leaving you broke. The breakfast is big portions and really good. The service is always great and very friendly. Also quick service if you don’t have a lot of time.” says one Yelp reviewer, while another boasts,  “Place was fantastic! Beverage cup was kept full, and server was always checking in. Full of energy and they definitely personalize or ask questions to spark a conversation.”

And, not to mention: They will be kicking off the fun St. Patrick’s Day eve (Thursday, March 16th) with Leprechaun shots at midnight!
