Summer’s here! Yay! And that means some amazing summer events right here in sunny Irvine. So many that it’s hard to keep up with them but we’ve tried with today’s blog which features some highlights of the summer events happening in Irvine.

On Saturday, July 8th is the 2nd Annual Long Beach Vegan Festival. Expect lots of food and music  – and more food and music! – that runs from 11am-7pm at the Rainbow Lagoon Park. Events include a vegan chili cook off (and who doesn’t love vegan), creative art instillations and live music. Could this be the new summer tradition? We certainly hope so!

On July 18th there’s the VineOC TECH Fest & Startup Mixer from 6pm-10pm. This mixer is designed to bring together some of Orange County and Los Angeles’ smartest people and throw them together in a room with wine, beer and gourmet food. What will happen? All you have to do is pay the $12 admission fee, bring a bunch of business cards, and find out for yourself!

Looking for more summer events in Irvine? Look no further! From August 3-6, check out the International Surf Festival which this year is using Manhattan Beach as it’s host city. The 56th Annual Festival celebrates the four South Bay beach cities as well as focusing on who provides the best lifeguard service. There’s also physical fitness on hand for the thousands of participants (who, by the way, run from 8 years old right up until their 80’s!). They have loads of fun events taking place including bodysurfing contests, a beach run, paddleboard races, surfing contests, and a dory race. The three main events include the Judge Taplin Lifeguard Medley Relay, the Dwight Crum Pier-to-Pier Swim, and the Charley Saikley 6-Man Volleyball Tournament.

But there’s more summer events in Irvine. On Sunday, August 6th is the 9th Annual Lobsterfest at Newport Beach. The Lobsterfest is held at the Newport Dunes Water Front Resort and Marina and raises money for charities. It runs from 3pm-8pm and the $60 entrance price gets you one whole Maine Lobster as well as steak, salads, red potatoes, corn on the cob, butter/rolls, desserts and a no-host full-service bar. Sounds amazing, right? We’ll definitely be there!

Whatever you do this summer in Irvine, there are plenty of events to choose from – so remember to enjoy the sun, stay hydrated, and drink responsibly!
