Southern California may have good weather all year round, but summertime is arguably the best season — think beach days, cold drinks, poolside lounging.  When summer rolls around, SoCal is jam-packed with fun events and activities for locals.  So get excited, here’s our roundup of the best events in and around Irvine!

Independence Day

First things first, you can’t plan your summer months without knowing where you’ll be for fireworks on the 4th of July.  If you’re sticking around town, don’t miss the Irvine Police Association’s 33rd annual Concert on the Green and FIreworks Festival.  Before the big show enjoy live music, activities for the kids, raffle prizes, food, and more at Irvine High School football stadium.  Event starts at 3pm, boom!

Enjoy Sunset Cinema – July 14th

On Friday July 14th Sunset Cinema lands at Mason Regional Park in Irvine with an 8pm showing of Moana. Grab your picnic blankets and homemade movie snack-pile for a night of adventure with princess Moana.  What could be better than a movie under the stars (oh and did we mention free)?!

The Greatest Show on Surf – July 16th-17th

Watch some of the country’s best surfers shred at The  41st Annual Ocean Festival in San Clemente.  Festival-goers are encouraged to join in on the ocean fun with fun activities like a sand castle contest, live music, a fishing derby, and kids body surfing lessons.  Party at the beach!

Music to your Ears – July 19th

A performance you won’t want to miss by The Pacific Symphony in the Cities concert at Mike Ward Community Park here in Irvine.  Bring the family along for the “musical playground” starting at 5:30pm, concert starts at 7pm.

Participate in an Art Crawl – August 19th

“ACE” for short is an art walk and festival in downtown Anaheim.  In the stretch between Aneheim Blvd and Harbor Blvd along the Center Street Promenade, you’ll find galleries, crafts, tasty treats, and more!  PLUS Anaheim Resort Transit (ART) is giving free rides to the event, score!
