The holidays are here, which means there are events galore for kids from 1 to 92 in Costa Mesa this year. Here are a few of the city’s unique events to mark on your calendar. Let’s make the season bright!
November 25th – December 24th
The South Coast Repertory presents its 37th annual production of A Christmas Carol. You’ll surely feel the spirit of old-fashioned Christmas captured in this quality local production. It’s a timeless, classic Christmas experience the whole family will enjoy!
November 28th – December 1st
Santa Claus is coming to town…specifically, South Coast Plaza! Kids can ride Santa’s Express Train and take photos with St. Nick himself! Of course, festive holiday music will be playing and there’ll even be a North Pole filled with imaginative crafts and activities for children. How fun!
Head to Segerstorm Center for the Arts to hear the unforgettable Vienna Boys Choir. They’re one of the world’s oldest musical group (founded in 1296!) and for good reason: their angelic, phenomenal voices. Classical music-lovers, don’t miss this!
Watch as over 100 performers grace the stage for this dreamlike, Christmas adventure. Between the classic Christmas music, amazing sets and scenery, and glittering decor, you’re sure to be romanced by this traditional holiday musical. With costumes designed by a Tony award-winner, the aesthetics of this show alone are worth the trip!
December 10th -23rd
This Costa Mesa tradition is embarking on its 47th year, and draws thousands of thousands of visitors every year. Enjoy the holiday scenery and free photos with Santa! There will even be train rides and musical performances by local Costa Mesa musical groups.
This special, one-day holiday celebration has lots of fun for the whole family. There will be a performance by local students, festive face painting, and a special appearance by Santa Claus!
December 16th – January 1st
Spread some holiday cheer at Winter Fest, where you’ll find tons of fun for the whole family to enjoy. Between the ice rink, 130-foot ice slide, and play park with real snow, you’ll be having fun for hours on end. Don’t forget to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus’ cabins during your visit!
December 20th – January 1st
Elf the Musical
The beloved family classic switches from screen to stage for the musical adaption of Elf, at the Segerstorm Center for the Arts. If you love the movie, you’ll surely love the musical production; it’s produced and written by Broadway greats and Tony award winners. Santa, please?!
