Living in Laguna Niguel, it can be difficult to ever want to stay home for your dining pleasures when the seafood is fresh daily, the produce is abundant and you can have an amazing view at nearly every restaurant you head to.

We decided to compile a list of some of our favorite places for lunch in Costa Mesa when you have a lunch date, or simply want to escape the hustle and bustle. Read on to discover some of our picks for a Costa Mesa lunch restaurant!


A unique menu boasting New American cuisine, Eat Chow is definitely a great go-to and may we recommend their French Onion sandwich or the Braised Rib Sloppy Joe? Lunch served Monday through Friday beginning at 11:30, and 1pm on the weekends.


If you can imagine tacos too good to be true, head on over for lunch at Taco Mesa. For over 20 years, they have been serving up “Healthy and Authentic” Mexican food while never using poor ingredients. And, if that isn’t enough to get you excited, nearly every weekday is an incredible special like 1.50 Taco Tuesday or 7.50 Tamale combos on Thursdays.


At Native Foods, they pride themselves on a delicious plant-based menu with favorites like mac and cheese, hamburgers and chili’s. The catch? You may not realize that you are consuming an entirely vegan meal! Perfect when you need a casual dining spot on your lunch hour.


Offering Mediterranean cuisine, Pom and Olive is where it’s at should you need a more formal meeting place for a Costa Mesa lunch. They also often have fun specials like free pita chips for a Yelp check-in!


A quick visit to Habana Restaurant’s Yelp page will tell you that they have a fantastic mix of diners who all have one thing in common: They rave about Habana. “Food was BOMB DOT COM!” says one reviewer, while another adds “Loved the patio and ambiance; the string lights at night would be fun and romantic. “ Offering up Cuban fare, Habana is at Costa Mesa’s hipster hangout The LAB and a favorite lunch restaurant in Costa Mesa.
